Unless you went out on one or two dates, or the other person is violent/matter of security really, then always face to face. It SUCKS when they break up with you over text like you never meant anything. It's a matter of respect towards the other person

I did it face to face a couple of times. One time I did it over the phone because she lived 1500 miles away. I would never do it with a text. That is a dick move.
