I prefer texting for several reasons:
1.) Texting is less intrusive than calling. Texting is a great way to avoid talking over the phone if you’re too busy to call.
2.) Texting is a more private way of communication, so it’s easier to talk about personal things without feeling embarrassed or judged by people nearby.
3.) Texting is an instant way of communicating without having to worry about what time zone your recipient may be in.

It depends... Sometimes if both of us are free and it's possible.. i would love to talk on call... Coz we can have so much better conversations... And we can get to know soo much more about EACH other in lesser time if it's in call.. we can have better understanding and better bonding...

But during initial stage and when people r busy... Texting is best.. as u can talk without feeling shy and u can share stuff more easily in text which we might feel shy to share in calls..

We can talk about lot of crazy stuff too on text and we can send gif and emojis also and they play major role in expressing emotions in texting 💕💕

Definitely texting, I would rather not call unless I am in an emergency or so. I like texting more because its something you can just do and leave be until someone texts back or until you are finished with your work. I mean, yeah it can get a little stressful when you text someone and they don't text back which makes you overthink at times, but that's way better that being on call where you have to think and talk and always be on the alert for a better signal so that it doesn't cut off in between or that we don't have to go "Hello are you there" every 5 seconds.

Texting is so much easier cause it makes it able for both parties to reply at their own convenience. It can be rude to push a phone call onto someone when so. Many peoples lives are busy day to day. I think calls should be for emergencies, business and a planned conversation where both parties set the call up to ensure that neither one is busy

I prefer talking in person or talking on the phone it feels more naturally that way hearing the person's voice their expressions right away.
With texting you truly don't know their expressions or their tone and I think at times during text that people have gotten used to putting just emojis when there expression isn't true.

I would much rather talk. A girl and I were on phone most nights for 3 weeks before we met in person. We covered everything I can think of except discussing sex, which I did not want to do. I set a date to take her on back country touring on my touring motorcycle and to stay in my mountaintop cottage when the day ended. I diligently had set up a second bedroom for her, but we ended up together on one of the best nights of my life. Yes, it was sex on the "first" date but most of a month of talk and 300 miles in the mountain on a bike changed the character of things.

Talking. With text it is very difficult to express emotions. Going from the lowest understandable form to the highest you have text, then audio, then visual. It is also much quicker to express detail and meaning when using voice or visual communication.

Look at a picture. Now write down exactly what you see, every single detail. It's a lot faster to talk about it than write it down, and it is even easier with a picture.

However, if I only to tell somebody what train I will be on that evening, etc., then I will often send that via text as in those cases I only need to exchange very basic information and it can wait a while before they get it. (e. g. "On 17:20 train.")

So I bounce on this one. I prefer text for general conversation because like you said it is less intrusive but I would rather talk over text any day of the week. And when I like someone enough I usually switch to calling them rather then texting because texting just doesn’t get all the feels. I had a friend for a long time who I would get on to video chats with because even over the phone wasn’t enough some of the time. Like if we could we wanted to be able to see each other’s faces.

I prefer texting, for the same 3 reasons the author states, plus one more:
4. Texting leaves a historical record that can be reviewed in the future, to eliminate any confusion about what was said. This is in contrast to talking on the phone, where the participants may not remember exactly what each said.

My SO, on the other hand, prefers talking to texting, although she's slowly coming around to using texts with me.

I like to text when I don't have much to say but still want to hang out

Depends on the reason. If I just want to wish you a good morning, I will just text that but like if its your birthday. I will probably call you, about timezones, I usually add timezones of my friends (the ones who have different timezones, obviously) to my phone so I can pick a good time to call

For me it depends on the person, I absolutely love calling people I’m interested in and would much rather text others. I don’t like talking on the phone EVERY day though because it feels really taxing. Might just be me though lol

If I anticipate it would require more than several exchanges back and forth, I'd call if the time-of-day was reasonable.
