Why do girls/women, talk so much on the phone?

Have you ever noticed that rather it's a relative, significant other, or friend, it always seems that women talk and especially text way more than men? Like I personally hate texting because It's time consuming and distracting, I'd much rather call so I can do other stuff at the same time. In the mean time my ex girlfriend would text me throughout the day and get annoyed at me for not responding much. Thoughts?

I hate phone calls.. And I'm horrible with small talk. When I text, it gives me time to think of a reply. I sometimes don't answer the phone for people I know. I'll text them back, say I'm busy, just so I don't have to talk on the phone. But if we were face to face, I would talk even with a Shakespearean tone..

Men are typically straight to the point though. If you ever hear a story from a woman vs a man it's like 5 times as long.

Their need to constantly gossip is part of it. Their obsession with it is comical.

Sadly it's something that should stop at least while driving. The vast majority of the car wrecks that happen that involve smart phones are women.. It's been made illegal here without a hands free kit. I think it should be illegal everywhere.
