Do women generally move on faster from break ups just because they are allowed to show their emotions or is that an inherent gender characteristic?

Women do tend to show their emotions and mourn after breakups where men internalize it. I usually have delayed reaction that hits me a few weeks later when this happens.

There have been studies done that breakups negatively impact men more than women. The reasoning is women are allowed to process their emotions, grieve and move on. Not so with men.

But I am wondering if there is more to this. Reason being widows usually live a lot longer after a husband passes away vs widowers usually die soon after they lose their wives.

uh my dad lost my mom 22 years ago, he's still here and kicking, and he hasn't remarried since. I wouldn't say that it wasn't extremely difficult for him, but it was hard to know at first because he wouldn't show it. at some points i got mad at him because he goes on not talking about her as if she was never here. but thats his way of moving forward, and as an adult, I see now talking about someone with no chance they're coming back, can be considered unaware of the present because your mind lives in the past.

Funny.. I internalize my feelings and I’m slightly introverted and the guys I’ve been attracted to in the past are more outgoing.. they wear their hearts on their sleeve and they’re just so much more open about their feelings so I feel like the guys I tend to like move on faster..

Depends on the person. Usually a lot of people move on faster when they accepted things aren't gonna work and they can do better.
