Why don’t divorced people just label themselves as single instead of as divorced?

If I were to get divorced, I wouldn’t label myself as divorced but as single because I wouldn’t want my ex wife wandering around my status or life anymore. A divorced person is the same as a single person. For me, it just takes away interest a bit because you wonder… who was at fault? Is she difficult to live around and that’s why she got divorced? What happened in the marriage? Amber heard?

I have dated many divorced women and they are NOT the same as never married women. Representing youself as single is misleading to others because they wll assume that means you have never been married. Beginning any possible relationship with a misrepresentation is a mistake and creates potential problems in the future.

Because its important to many people. I dont think its acceptable to marry a divorcee. They made a commitment for life and broke it. Therefore they are unsuitable for a future marriage. Case closed. I dont believe in divorce so to me they are just cheating. There is no extenuating circumstances. Irrelevant.

What do you mean, THEY DO! People call themselves single all the time when they're divorced because many don't want the "stigmas" that come with it. I reject women that say they're single and come to find they're divorced. Because if she willing to hide that from me I ask myself what else is she hiding.
