How to move on from your first love?

I have been trying this to move on from him but I cannot. He never cared about me. For him I was just a side chick. That day I saw him and we had eye contact for a few times. How much I tried to ignore him my eyes were stuck on him. And then he came and stood right next to me. It was extremely hurtful for me at that time... So since then I am so much in pain. I want to hate him and move but it seems its impossible.

Try different experiences
Try to reminisce about good times and then realise you can make more good times with friends and family even better than him.
Try to get support from people going through same who you think will have a good influence and then finally move on...
