Mandatory pre marital counseling may reduce those numbers. We should have other things in place. 2 free mandatory counseling sessions every 6 months. Or 4 sessions right after life changing events. Or mandatory 6 months marriage health check eval.
It shouldn't be mandatory, the last thing we need is more unwanted government involvement in people's marriages.
How about we start two research groups one with mandates and one without mandates?
studies how that married men live longer than single men. but married women do not necessarily live longer than single women.
People get married too young, too quickly, they barely know the person they are marrying.
Sounds like con artist feminist education brainwashing. The actually is that the reverse is true it's people that get married too late that divorce not too early. Those that got married very young in times past celebrated more than 70 years together and past away at each other's sides.
@SpokenTruth because getting divorced was highly frowned upon. Women couldn't divorce most of the time because they had no choice but to be reliant on men for everything. You cannot compare now to then.
Average age for first marriage is 29. Average age for first divorce is 30.
The average right now is probably about that age 29 but it wasn't that age in years past. In years past they were getting married not even half that old the minimum age at one time was as young as 10 years old they married and they died together in old age and it wasn't because divorce made it difficult it was because they stuck together through think and thin. They believed in God and God hates divorce.
And additionally if she had no choice that means he didn't have any choice either. Feminism was a deliberate move to undermine the institution of marriage and destroy the family it's as simply as that.

I don't know, but with that statistic I do think it is understandable to blame women for most divorce.
@Tom404 I suspect infidelity, conflict over money, & incompatible values play major roles in the rising divorce trends in the world.
I would also like to add that marriage had lost its value in this modern ages. It is easier to give up and file for a divorce than to work on marital disagreements and heal the relationship with you partner
There are massive incentives, many financial, for a woman to divorce a man.
