Took me 3 years to get over my ex. I really thought I'd never get over him. But I did. I now feel indifferent towards him.

Recently I was seeing a guy who I had strong feelings for, but I discovered he was playing me all along. It crushed me inside. I am still healing from that experience and every time I cry about the situation I keep telling myself that I will eventually get over him , because If I eventually got over my ex, who i loved , the hurt I feel now by someone who played me will heal.

I selected a month to half a year but the reality is that it could be a few weeks or several months or longer. Depends strongly on the relationship and how closely you were connected.

And, some stuff is never done/gone/over. You'll be standing in a line somewhere and hear a song you used to associate with them or with your relationship and it all comes roaring back.

But you can smile again and love again.

I put 6 months to a year, but honestly it depends how long you're with them. Somebody who was a virgin when they got married and got divorced 10 years later it could take 10 years, someone like me who's been with too many women, it could take a week it could take me a year. It's not as easy just to give a general number I think..
