Say hello and move on is my first inclination. They're an ex. Either they dumped you, right, and therefore why would you consider them again or you dumped them, right, and you dumped them for a reason. Fine, maybe there are other reasons but I get the vibe from your question that it wasn't something like they joined the Army and you broke up and now they're back. Sounds like they're crawling back so, back to my first inclination which is keep moving on.

What, exactly, does “came back” mean? Did he return from a deployment? move back to town? start calling you? move back into your house? ask for visitation with his kids? It’s hard to respond without knowing more.
