Depends on the country. In Switzerland you might get a bit of alimony while looking for a job, for example if you gave up your job after marriage. If you continued the same job there is likely no alimony, even if he earns more.

Any savings made in those 3 months will be shared, but I suppose it's not a lot for the short time.

It depends upon where you live. In many areas you'd be entitled to half of what he earned, minus expenses and exceptions, for the time prior to separation. In most places three months is not enough to get any alimony. But if you bought a house after marriage with comingled funds, you are probably entitled to half of that.

Where I live, all of the aforementioned applies (possible exceptions if there is a pre-marital agreement that holds up in court). After ten years, alimony/spousal support is for life unless you remarry or, if his attorney is smart enough to include it, cohabit.
