He is using psychological warfare in an attempt to make you take the blame for the separation and the end of the relationship.

He simply wants you to feel bad about the separation, despite the fact that he is the one that ended the relationship. Don't play his game and stay on your position. Don't allow him to doubt about yourself.

If he wants to get back in the relationship, then HE will have to excuse himself and he will have to have a very serious face to face conversation (not via social media) with you and he must give you his arguments why he acted the way he did.

No point getting back with an ex unless the reason you 2 split is because of external factors like one of you moving away, but then they come back later and want to reconnect. If you broke up for a different reason then why repeat the cycle with them and just end up breaking up again.

So it was so hard for me when I was with him; I was constantly told things (ex: needy, annoying, emotional, & much more) I even got cheated on so.
