My ex said she "loved" me and broke up with me, is that really "love"?

She didn't want kids, I kinda did and she said I'd be a great dad. She and I were having lots of arguments and she said we're too different so she broke up though she said she "loved" me.

It was only like 8 months in so were we just in the lust and honeymoon phase of a relationship and is that phase even really "love" at all?
