Ex removed me from instagram followers?

Me and my ex broke up over a year ago and I noticed she recently removed me from her followers but still follows me..

We ended on as good terms as a heart break gets and within a couple of months I withdrew my contact because I realised I was the only one trying. I barely ever post anything on my Instagram, so I’m not sure why she didn’t just unfollow me at the same time she removed me from her followers. I also find it strange that she has thousands of strangers following her, but removed the person that she has a past with? It’s not like I viewed her stories often but I certainly had a peek every now and then out of curiosity. She hasn’t removed me of fb but she’s certainly more active on Instagram.

I don’t really see the logic behind this, given the time frame. If you have a take on the reasoning, I’d love to hear it

Well ya know man, chicks be mysterious sometimes with that Instagram stuff. Couple things could be going on:

- She's probably moved on but still occasionally checks your profile like you check hers. Outta curiosity ya know, since you guys got history. Removing you as a follower helps her not be tempted.

- Maybe she's seeing someone new and doesn't want them to know she still follows an ex. Especially if they've poked around her followers list. Easier to remove ya low-key.

- Could be sending you a subtle signal. Like she's wiped the slate clean of your "relationship" status but keeps tabs from afar. Kinda like a "we're done done" message even if you're still friends on Facebook or whatever.

- Or she's just cleaning house! Pruning followers to keep her profile tidy since it's been well over a year. No harm no foul kinda thing.

Who knows what chicks be thinking eh? Wouldn't read too much into it. We're in the past for her obviously, so wouldn't fixate. Just leave it be and focus on meeting someone new yourself bro!

As painful as it might be, it sounds like she's trying to send a message that she just isn't connected to you like that anymore, and maybe because she's with some new guy now and she doesn't want him seeing you on her followers list. I totally understand how it hurts and it's clear that you never really got over her - which can take a lot of time for some people. But I think that's probably the reason why she unfollowed.

I know it's difficult to hear, but you have to let go. You guys were together over a year ago, and over a year later you still take note of her details on Instagram. That's kind of a long time to hold on.

Tbh it’s not painful, more curiosity at this point. She dated a guy and posted him before but that looks like it fell through. That’s when it world of made more sense in my opinion. Do you never check on your exs? Even when I was with her, I got curious what they got up to

Understandable. Yes, every so often I look at an ex's page to see if there's anything new, I will admit. But I don't actually care about them, I just get curious about what's in their world from time to time.

Because she was kind but had a lot of issues, that I didn't really come to see until the end. When she ended things with me I hated her, but looking back on it I completely understand why and I have no malice towards her for it.

Some people have apps which tell them when someone unfollows them, she could have avoided unfollowing you back to better hide the fact she removed you as a follower (most people don’t care to check who they stop following after all). Even if she doesn’t know whether you use these apps, she could have done it just in case you did. Ultimately she most likely removed you as a follower because while you ended on good terms, in some way she didn’t feel comfortable being herself on her account knowing you’d be able to see the content. Staying your follower could be to assure you it’s still good terms.

It's her just trying to cut ties. Probably cause that's her way of preventing herself from getting involved again. Sometimes that's what a person needs to do to move on properly and not have those thoughts lingering and getting in the way of her progress
