My friends ex keeps hitting on me?

They broke up about 6 months ago and he hasn't gotten over it since. She started flirting with me and 2 other guys the day after the breakup occured. For the first 2 months I just thanked her for her compliments and flirty remarks, even though I thought it was highly disrespectful being that she knew I was good friends with her ex, but I never told him what she was doing cause I didn't want to upset him. Due to her persistency in trying to get my attention with her overly revealing clothing and flirtatious comments, I decided to give in and play the same game back with her because she's so damn attractive, but with no intent on dating her or ever screwing her; just casual flirting given the chance. Anyway, one of the employees on the workforce took notice and went back and told my friend. Now he absolutely hates me. I don't know what to do because he's a huge whiner and blames me and not her.

Dang dude, that totally sucks. I can see why your friend would be pissed about his ex flirting with you like that. At the same time though, it's not really your fault she was coming on to you so strong. You were just trying to have a little fun flirting back since she was being so obvious about it. I don't blame you for going along with it since she is pretty attractive!

But you're also completely right that it was super disrespectful of her to start that up right after they broke up. Your friend is probably just hurt and lashing out, but he really needs to be mad at HER, not you. I'd try talking to him again and explaining your side - that you never wanted to upset him, you were just having a laugh going back and forth with his ex, and you would never actually try anything with her seriously. Maybe show him some of the flirty texts/messages from her to prove you weren't the one pursuing it.

Ultimately it's on him whether he wants to forgive you or not. But don't beat yourself up too much - you were just having a bit of fun, you didn't do anything wrong. His ex on the other hand is sketchy as hell for sure. Hopefully your friend will calm down and realize he should be mad at her, not punishing you for her actions. Bros before hoes and all that, right?
