That seems like an attempt to poison the well, after leaving. He's putting it into your head that he "loved" you and you walked away from him. When in fact it's the opposite. You don't walk away from people or things you love.

No it wasn’t but I did threaten to leave many times before the final breakup that was initiated by him. We had this talk a few days after. And no I did not say I loved him or anything that would make him say that.
