If you murdered somebody and got a good lawyer to get you off, would you be haunted the rest of your life?

What if you murdered somebody close to you, maybe a spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend and the cops botched the investigation and your lawyer was able to get you off would your conscience bother you for the rest of your life or would you be able to just pick up your life where you left off?

If it was something I did inadvertently, in the heat of the moment, I'd be scarred for life.

They probably don't, only someone that isn't right in the head in the first place would kill someone without the need for self defense. That includes "passion killings" being angry is no excuse for acting on violent impulses, if they do they're not right in the head.

I don't think OJ Simpson ever showed any sign of remorse. He continued living his life like nothing happened, and even got arrested years later for robbery and assault.

I don’t think I would get to that place of killing anyone… if I did. I wouldn’t be getting a lawyer to defend myself…because I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. It’s a scary thought to do such thing.

Wouldn't happen. If I murdered someone and was caught, I couldn't lie about it. I can't lie. I certainly wouldn't be "haunted", since I strongly believe most people should absolutely die and I would quite gladly kill the majority of humanity if the opportunity presented itself. But the opportunity will never present itself, and I doubt in practice I could get away with killing even one without getting caught... so I don't bother.

If I am going to kill someone, I will be making sure the chances of being caught are negligible, that the chances of finding the body are minimal.
