Someone did this once long ago, scared the hell out of the husband. They're still married. It's been 12 years since that prank. It was never done ever again.
If you had to grade it from a 1-10 scale, how cruel/mean is doing a divorce prank?

that's not something to Prank about.
A real prank is having 2 buckets, one full of coins and stones and the other having only a cap with coins on top, then having a girl lift the hollow Bucket and ask other people to help her carry the other heavy bucket.
These social media pranks gotta end. Just saw one tiktoker shithead harass some old man in the grocery store who was about to have a heart attack. Idda busted the pranksters ribs.
yes those pranks have gone too far now. Another time I saw some loser doing a marriage proposal prank. It's like people don't have common sense anymore. There are certain things you just don't ever joke about, esp if it involves hurting people's feelings or causing them to have physical distress.

It's not cruel/mean, it's dumb, exceedingly stupid. On a scale of 1-10 it ranks -999.
i come from divorced parents, so this would be extremely cruel and open up trauma and wounds that i have been trying to heal from in the first place. i think pranks like that are cruel and it shows how the person truly is, deep down. completely unnecessary and a topic that shouldn't be messed with
dumber than shit.
How would they have reacted if he then said, oh good, I've been thinking the same thing, but I didn't know how to bring it up, and find out that he was not joking about it?
It's not cruel or mean, just stupid as shit.
How could you trust someone after that?
10, that just seems pointlessly cruel and not even funny.
Yeah, I’ve seen videos of teenage couples calling their parents and saying they’re pregnant as a “prank.” Giving their parents a damn heart attack for laughs!
10/10 cruel/mean and could result in a real divorce.
I would be laughing the whole time...
It's not a prank... You just showed your true character of being a Hollywood villain like Dr. Evil that tells his dastardly plan before he does it.
pranks should be shoe polish on binoculars, itching powder in underwear, "kick me" signs, drawing on the faces of people passed out drunk, etc, not trying to make someone cry or feel like crap
yeah it seems like pranks have gotten too far over these years. They used to be innocent ones like the ones you're mentioning but nowadays, pranks seem to be about ''I want a divorce'', ''I cheated on you'', ''doing a fake marriage proposal'' or ''you sister, mother just died'' types. There are certain things that one must never joke about.
I can't think of anything much worse than that. I really hate any sort of 'prank'. Nine out of ten times they are just fucking stupid.
It's a prank I would actually divorce over. Divorce is something you should never joke about. It shows immaturity and stupidity to pull that kind of prank.
Very mean, no reason to stress someone like that.
Bad.
10, guy thinks he's getting f'ed for life so just ends it
10, divorce worthy.
A 10, very cruel.
Your husbands other wife?
Be careful what you ask for.
