He used to play pranks on me in the past but then stopped after we got engaged 4 years ago. I wasn't into it but decided to play one for the first time.

I tried to keep a serious expression when explaining. I've always thought abuse and cheating should be the only reasons to get divorced. Other things can be worked out. Needless to say, he got somewhat emotional and began burying his head, not saying a single word for a moment. It took several times to tell him it's just a prank.

I got that idea from a divorce prank video on youtube I saw a while back. I want to grow old with him. I was just joking.

I explained this to 4 of my friends and none of them thought it was funny either. They didn't find any humor in that prank.

Yes, work on your sense of humor and knock off the cringe prank crap. Do you know likely it is that you have possibly damaged his trust for you? Quite - what's to stop you from doing this again or how is he supposed to take you seriously from now on? If you've gotta prank him then throw a pie at him or something, not fake a divorce... jeez.

I think it was a little to far. Since he loves you to much that probably gave him quite the scare. If you guys were Youtubers that would of probably been easier for him to get over because he would already be used to getting severely pranked.

Yeah it’s not funny when it’s about that part of your life but didn’t he realize you were joking since you’re not married so how could you get a divorce if you’re only engaged?
