None. I took breaks, focused on myself, and organically went back to the dating scene in person when I felt better.
Every failed relationship has been a lesson for me. From learning to prioritize myself and listen to my gut, to standing up for myself and raising my standards, to learning that I don't need to wait for someone to be ready if I'm ready and it's ok to move on.
Each relationship teaches me more about myself and how I am in relationships - whether that manifests as recognizing and unlearning unhealthy behaviours of my own, or learning to identify what I don't like or tolerate in romantic partners.
I've had 4 failed relationships and each taught me valuable lessons and have helped me learn the skills and standards that resulted in my current found family.
To me, love always wins. Might just take time.10 Reply

None of my relationships have been great but the one with my kids father was the worst and I gave up. I didn't date for years. Out of no where this guy I was acquainted with gave me his number and I started to believe again. But now it's complicated again. So good luck, take your time and hopefully the right love will find you!

Nope I’m not giving up on love ever. I love being in love and I love being able to show my sensitive side in a sappy way.

The only "relationships" that occurred with me or for sure would have I didn't really try at all. One girl I met on a chairlift at a ski resort and asked her out to dinner. After that she followed me everywhere including my house and directed back to her place on several occasions. Our lives just moved on from there. The other girls just happened and I can't necessarily say how they did. I know it was big groups of friends camping and the girl ended up in my bed and continued to do so. Really the gal on chairlift was my only successful date ever. I don't really have interest in that sort of date really. I want a hiking or kayaking girl to keep me company. That is free and doesn't really have any expectable end.

3. And the line that did it for me was when the girl I'd been seeing said "let's be real; what's the point" as she was cutting things off.
20 Reply Erm. A 12 year followed by a 1.5 Yr followed by a 3 Yr relationship. Then I gave up for 8 years! Just had a 3 month thing. Now I'm still looking.

Oh, I gave up. LOL
People keep telling me to just take it easy, heal, stay single for a bit, and just wait. Let God direct.
I am only 22. I rather live at peace with no more heart breaks.
Anyways, we shall see what happens. It is what it is.

love won't ask you... it can happen to you anytime
the question is if you will accept your feelings, or let them die

Oh, I say let it die.

9 moI don’t give up on it, also not all failed, the majority were due to work commitments and other obligations that meant we had to reevaluate our relationship.

All of them? In practice, the one that really hurt was the roller derby girl who got back with her ex - in front of me. I genuinely thought there would be something there.
