Who do you belive it takes longer to recover from heartbreak: men or women?

It takes longer for men because women find new men immediately while men have to wait years for the slightest possibility of finding someone new. I've been single for almost 10 years since my last relationship. I've gone almost the entirety of my 20s single

I feel like it takes men longer to “recover.” I guess it would all depend on how much they love (d) each other but for women, I think we take it harder emotionally at first, but recover fairly quickly and become very strong-headed. For men, I don’t feel like they ever fully recover, then just figure out a way to move on. I personally think it’s easier for a women to move on and meet someone than it is for a guy.

I agree with this answer. Especially since women have more options than men generally speaking, so it's easier for them to get validation from guys which makes them feel valued. That's not the case with men in my opinion.

I think if you love hard enough in the relationship it doesn't matter what gender you are. It takes however long it takes to recover from any breakup whether you are a man or a woman.

Completely situational. For every relationship it will depends on which one was more into it or in love. Usually the one who wasn’t as deeply in love moves on sooner and pretty much acts like nothing happened in a very short time……. I’ve been in both situations

Tbh, it probably depends on the person, but I'd say men might take longer. They often bottle up their feelings and try to act all tough, but inside, they're hurting just as much. Women usually have their friends to lean on and are more open about their emotions, so they might heal a bit faster. Just my two cents! 🤷‍♀️💔

Women. Men can easily removed themselves from it by hanging with the guys, working, drinking, sports, etc. But women are emotional creatures and it hits harder. I know because I'm going through it right now. The first thing my ex-boyfriend did was hit the bar and tomorrow is going to be with friends. I only know this because he told a mutual friend about his plans.

It sucks because I'm sitting bawling my eyes out and he is just having a good ol time.

Guys are conditioned from an early age not to let things like heartbreak bother them. I could maintain a good poker face but it still hurt like hell. I bet they are both the same but if you ask me this I would dent it.

Women deal intensely with the loss , but they tend to move forward better than a male , particularly if the heartbreak came as a bit of a shock..

whoever's ego is the biggest. and guys tend to think they have huge ego's and never cry, so they'll never show if they're upset or not. so i can only imagine how deep that goes.

Sorry for your loss Liam , but may I say you will never " recover " as such , you may gain some acceptance , but thats about it..
My father was in a car accident when I was 7 years old , he died 8 years later , I've never recovered , only come to accept , its something I can't change , with my father gone during this period , my mother lost the check/ balance of her actions.
I'm double your age.

It's whoever invested the most into the relationship. So for short term women take longer but for long term men take longer
