How long should you wait after a breakup to date someone new?

My ex broke up with me almost two weeks ago. He broke up with me because he cheated. Last Saturday my friend took me out and I met a new guy. We have just been talking but he asked if I wanted to go out tomorrow night. Is it too soon to be with someone else? Also do you think this will be perceived as I knew him while we were dating or I cheated?

I’m sorry you got cheated on especially if you were nothing but loyal at least he broke up, but unfortunately many cheaters hide it well. It’s not until they don’t need you anymore that they don’t have as much to loose. It’s sad he’s too cowardly to break up first.

I think dating comes when you’re ready take time to grieve but when you find yourself genuinely attracted to someone then yes maybe it’s time to start dating. Getting to know someone new and see what it builds. Maybe it doesn’t work out and that’s fine too but at least you’re moving on.

Just make sure to grieve because if you don’t that can cause a lot more problems s.

There are no rules. Everyone is different. Date someone new when you feel like you are over the pervious person. Going out with someone new can help you get over a relationship, but be careful it's not just a rebound one, unless you are just looking for fun and nothing serious.

But if I go through another break up, I'll probably ask someone out a week or so after.
