What do you think is the REAL reason that this woman wants a divorce?

If you've not seen it, this video has been making the rounds lately.

QUICK SUMMARY

She wants to divorce her husband, despite that he's perfect, he's selfless and hardworking and self-disciplined, there's nothing about him she doesn't love, and so forth. They've been married for ten years and have three kids. However, she feels she can't be herself, she doesn't even know who she is, her expectations aren't being met, and she feels like something is missing from their relationship since they got married.

Do you agree with her or is there something else going on? What do you think is the REAL reason she wants a divorce? Scrolling through comments on other videos critiquing this, the consensus is that 1) she's cheating or 2) she wants to sleep around.

Here are my takeaways...

• How is someone 32 years old, married ten years, has three kids, and they still don't know who they are? How, after having shared a home and been physically intimate (both of which they likely did before getting married), does one not feel comfortable "being themselves"? "I don't know who I am" and "I can't be myself" also seem contradictory reasons.
• In addition to ten years of marriage, they'd also dated and been engaged for, let's say, three to five years, so since she was 17 to 19 years old. That's nearly half your life. How did none of this come up then?
• Why would someone NOT make marriage vows (this couple didn't)?
• If therapy and counseling can't help, why post this on social media? I think that her mind is made up; she wants to leave and is looking for validation. I suppose you could argue that she wants someone to talk her out of it... but again, if the pros can't help...
• Her husband isn't totally off the hook. Why is he allowing this?

If she were asking me directly, I'd tell her "lady, the problem here is you."

That's right, millions of women are suffering this very day from the fate of not being deliriously happy.

She loves all his characteristics, but she doesn't have that *spark* that she wants like her life was a hallmark romcom. Embracing no fault divorce is the natural result of elevating romantic love to a moral force.

She knows she's aging and this might be the last chance to try strange (r) meat.

Women in her state often have a divorce fantasy, that they can somehow do better than what they have. The women who divorce late in life don’t suddenly get thinner, prettier, or sweeter. Nor do their options suddenly improve. Their options in fact get worse over time.

Whenever women are on the cusp of having it all, the patriarchy always finds a way to thwart them. Evil patriarchy, I tip my hat to you.

I remember seeing this video on Instagram and I think it’s basically the fact that she’s probably never had anybody else to compare to and always thinks the grass is greener on the other side. Most women are never satisfied because they always seem to want more and also seek challenges and drama

My guess is it’s a combination of A) she settled for him because he was a good guy. She was never actually in love/deeply in love and very attracted to him. B) she has unrealistic ideas of what a relationship looks like or she’s comparing their every day relationship to the highlights of others relationships on social media and maybe even tv/movies.

She is the embodiment of the typical modern selfish woman. She has been married to her husband for 10 years, she acknowledges he is the perfect man, the perfect husband and the perfect father. She should have also mentioned he is a saint for putting up with her shit. But she doesn't know who she is yet or what she needs to be happy, so she can't tell him what to do differently to make her happy, and she tells him she wants a divorce. The fact he hasn't dumped her ass yet tells me, like I said, he's a saint and he loves his children.

This is why the divorce rate is so high and women initiate 80% of divorces. Today's women have no sense of commitment, they are very selfish and they can't be satisfied even when they have struck gold in marrying their partner. Women are destroying the institution of marriage.

I think it is that whilst she has a good life, it is not a fairy tale life where she feels delighted every minute of it.

As for the husband he is probably well over the ungrateful bitch and will have a party when she walks out. I had a girlfriend who wanted me to seduce her every night with new sweet nothings and would complain "Oh. You said that last night".

Go watch the first minute. She talks about splitting up processions in a divorce. Then she labels her perfect man as disciplined, loyal, and hardworking. So basically a guy that gets up every day to go to work and bring home money and give it to her. She didn't say one thing about the guy's personality. She described him like a robot that works for her company.
