People of GAG, what would you do if your significant other asked you to let their ex stay over night in your shared home?

In my case, it would never happen. One, my wife knows better than to ask that. She knows the answer would be know followed by divorce papers.

I have a good friend of mine who had this similar question asked by his wife. I told him "ask her how she would feel if one of your ex's wanted to stay the night" of course her response was "oh hell no" and he told her "you have your answer". To which she called him insecure, controlling and abusive.. Suffice it to say, he left the house with his children and is staying several hours from her. And of course I won't tell her where he, and the kids are. And I have it on good authority that he is filing for divorce.

I wouldn't have a problem with it especially if there were an actual need like an emergency because I actually trust my wife not to cheat on me. So yeah, to put it like you did, I'm not insecure. I wouldn't feel so insanely jealous that I would take our kids and hide somewhere or threaten divorce papers over it.

Actual adults have discussions over things like this and talk about why this would be necessary in their eyes. She isn't just inviting exes over just to cause drama. Besides, what the hell is she gonna do with an ex anyway if I'm home to begin with?

Now, the exception to this policy is if the ex was ever abusive, because I'm not trying to put our kids, her, or myself in harm's way. Luckily there isn't a case of that happening so it isn't an issue I'll ever have to worry about.

No. If a woman is doing that she intends to sleep with him while her husband is at work. She had a plan in her head which probably would have resulted in the locks being changed in the house, a restraining order filed. Divorce, alimony and child support.
