When you started a new life chapter after a breakup, how did it go?

I am starting my new chapter in life soon , once my home sells and my ex and I officially go our separate ways , more than how it is now , part of me is nervous and part of me is excited the same time , because I will finally feel free from her crazy ass , that did me so dirty , and she doesn’t take any accountability for her selfish actions and behaviors whatsoever l. So I plan on settling down in a smaller place , with my 21 year old son, that doesn’t want to go with his Mom at all, because he thinks she is crazy and selfish as well. He still loves her , but doesn’t want to be with her anymore, because of all the hell she put our family through. I am not enemies with my ex , but she isn’t my favorite person whatsoever. But eventually I would like to meet someone else , so I put myself back on the market but I am taking baby steps with whoever I meet , so I don’t end up in another bad relationship. I pray I never experience that again. So how did your new chapter in life turn out for you?

My story is similar to yours. Split with my exwife a few months before covid and I really worked on myself. I took a financial hit so I worked my ass off to rebuild that and made myself a better person. Nobody knew we split for many months later because of lockdown so when it started to get out, my friends and colleagues were trying to set me up with their single friends non stop. I worked long hours trying to make money and keep busy and my best friend during this period was my dog. Fast forward 6 years, I'm married for the last 2 years and recently retired. I'm in the process of moving to SE Asia where my wife is from to spend winters there and travel 6 months of the year. My life went from shit to heaven in a few short years. Embrace the opportunity because it's a great chance to reset your life.

Sadly, I can’t give a great report. Life after divorce is pretty rough especially if you’re over 40. I don’t drink so I don’t go to clubs or bars and online dating is an absolute cesspool in my opinion. So it’s been very difficult to date, or find somebody meaningful to share my life with, and that has been a huge problem. I’ve adjusted to being alone and I can live with myself just fine, but to be honest, I feel a little bit isolated at times. I hope your journey is much better than mine! Good luck.

It look a while. Long story. I waited a year until I was in college. Breakup was amicable, which made it easy-er.

Yea that’s pretty much what my ex and I did as well after all the butting heads and disagreeing on things. We finally threw in the towel and talked things out and decided to part ways on better terms then as complete enemies. As mulch as I am angry and upset at her , I still love and care about her because she was a big part of my life for a long time and the mother of our children , so I don’t want to hate her and wish her the best , we just don’t see eye to eye on things anymore. I want a girl that loves me and stands by me the same way I do for her , so that’s what I am looking for , I’m not expecting perfect , because no one is perfect , but I want a girl that wants what I want , that understands what it means to be in a relationship and understands that you can’t always. Your way and be right , my ex never took any accountability for her selfish behavior or actions , it was always my fault if things didn’t go right but never her own. So I want a girl that brings happiness and peace into my life , not misery

It happened to me in 2012. Kicked a woman out of my life because she was abusive (i have the scars to prove it), I ended up having to move to a different town, and change my name to get the fuck away from her.
