Can you realize you were in love months after a breakup?

Months after my relationship ended, I realized that I was in love with them. Do you think someone can truly realize that they’re in love months after a relationship has ended? Has anyone experienced something like this before?

yes this girl , things suddenly fell apart near end of summer and she ghosted , but i realised that i still deeply cared for her and wanted her in my life , she's briefly reappeared since and we've talked although i don't know if well ever be together or not

I would never get into a relationship UNLESS we were both in love with each other already

I could imagine there was a commitment settled; I haven't fully grasped where you're coming from, but they can put a mark on you when a breakup happens. That I know of.
