I have only seriously loved twice, so my experience is limited. But, it depends on how much you loved that person. My first true love, I dated for a year. I still think about and miss her everyday. We broke up June 16th, 2011.

I loved my second girlfriend as well, but she was abusive and manipulative and made ME think I was the problem. I have nothing but loathing for her now. I feel horrible for saying this, but when I found out a man hurt her after we broke up, I felt like justice was served, not sorry for her.

Yes it is very normal. Don't try to force yourself to get over them. You say it's been 7 months. Do you think you are pressuring yourself to forget about the relationship?
When it comes to love relationships, even if it's only for two months, you probably invested your heart with that person and now you are hurting because of it.
It will take as long as it takes for the wondering, hurting, and missing the person.
Sure, you are still alive and living through the pain. In my own experiences, as time goes by, it hurts less. For some it takes months, or years. Just don't feel like you should be over it by now. Love relationships don't work that way.

I can only have feelings last long like that if i have not accomplished something romantic with them yet. As for anyone else that I was dating, we could’ve been together anywhere from 2 weeks/months/years and I’d still be over them within 2 days/weeks. We had our moment and now its on to the next

I still get a fluttery feeling when thinking about past loves 35 years and even 45 years after relationships have ended.

They can hurt for a very long time.

I've been able to appreciate them in recent years for what they are, reminders of a life lived.

It’s normal especially if you haven’t fully healed and the feelings then were real and intense. You can’t just turn them off even after the relationship has ended. Only time will tell.

It happens. I think it might have something to do with the relationship only being 2 months before you split up. It might be harder to come to closure because you didn't know the person that long to begin with. There might be a lot of unanswered questions on your mind.

That's a good point. I had a platonic friend for about one year. He got married and she wants a divorce now but he doesn't want one because she makes a lot of money and supports him. In any case, we reconnected and started to be friends again. Somehow he convinced her to remain married and ended it with me. I'm always wondering "what if" and I have unanswered questions on my mind about him.

I still care about all my exes and apart of me misses them, which I doubt will ever change, but I would not date them again nor am I in love anymore. This still applies for the ones I broke up with too, so I would say it's normal.

For your case, you could still have strong feelings because you felt like it was something left unfinished and apart of you wants to see what that'd be like.

It's common. The question you should ask is why. Especially for a relationship that short. I think you're stuck with wondering the "what if's" and "what could have beens". That is a waste of your time and emotions. Get out there and start meeting new people.

Depends on how the relationship ended, in my experience. I still think about and miss my last ex when I’m alone, but after what she did, I can never trust her again. Even if she wanted to get back together, trust was lost forever.

4 months. After our first date I new this was the woman I wanted to marry. 4 months confirmed that she was perfect for me, but alas I was not perfect for her. She wanted me in her life still and would reach out to catch up every few months. It just prolonged my misery every time she did. I've had other short term relationships like that, they end but they still want me in their life. Thats what kills me and makes it harder for me to move on. I was crazy about them but they only adored me and still wanted me in their lives. I had to learn that I needed to cut them out of my life entirely like they never existed in order to move on in a timely manner.
