my ex boyfriend texts me at least once a week asking how I am doing and he calls about every 2 weeks. he broke up with me and its been difficult for me to accept, but I have and have a life of my own. I moved away from the city we lived in to do a 2 month long program. he does not know if I am coming back or not. I feel like anytime I show too much interest in talking to him, he will not contact me for a while. when he does talk to me, he always tells me he loves me and how great I am. he talks a lot about himself as well.

we were together 6 years and have been apart for about 3 months. I'm just trying to figure out what he wants without asking him. thanks!

You have the upper hand and can play hard to get. If he wants you back and broke up with you he should do the chasing for your love back. Maybe he wants to get back with you. I blame him for his mistake in judgement for what ever reason to throw 6 years away like that. He probably misses you and misses what you guys had. he really should apologize for breaking up woth you. And I think it depends on how you feel about him. If you still love him gve him another chance when the time is right. If you don't love him anymore then move on and find somebody that can make you happy.
