If he's bitter about his ex does that mean he's not over her?

If someone brings up her name he goes on a rant about all the bad things about her. This makes me feel like he's bitter because maybe there's still feelings there. Otherwise, why would he care? My ex turned out to be a jerk, and I'm not bitter. I'm not concerned with his life at all. What do you think?

Depends. It could be that he is trying to make you more comfortable about the subject. He might be trying to reassure you, even if you don't need it.

Or, it could be that she really hurt him and his EGO, so he is still not over her hurting him. But, I don't think he is not over her per se. I just think, he might not be FULLY healed.

Men are funny with their egos. If you hurt that badly, they can change or it could take them a long time to get over it.

Well it may be that he's over her like he doesn't want a relationship with her anymore but he hasn't completely forgotten about her because he still had a lot of memories with her. Just be with him and soon you'll replace those memories he had with his ex. I was like this before but it was only because she was my first love and all my experiences in love were connected with her so I had a hard time forgetting about her.

This makes a lot of sense to me. She was his first love. From what I understand she was unfaithful, lied, etc. It had been years since they'd seen each other before she moved back into town after him and I just started seeing each other. She caused dramatic public scenes trying to get him back. Even slept with his friend. I tried to walk away because I felt it was unfair for me to have to deal with it, having not known him for very long. But he didn't want to let me go. We're now dating.

I just worry because I've grown very fond of him. I live out of town, his ex live in town. She sometimes just shows up places where we're at. I have no idea if this happens when I'm not around. And when I see him bitter about the mention of her name... I just worry.

Well that's not your guy's fault anymore, Its the girl's. Even if a guy wanted to forget about his ex and was trying really hard to forget the ex he wouldn't be able to completely do that if his ex doesn't want him to forget about her. LIke I said he may be over her but if he won't be able to forget about her if the girl is like that.
