How does the break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend affect your life?

For example, one person deleted me off of Facebook right after I switched my relationship status to single via Facebook. Some others asked me why we broke up and tips to get it over with. About 2 or 4 of my ex gf's friends stopped talking to me, but I don't care.

So guys/girls, how does the break up affect your friends in general? and your life? Do you lose friends after a break up just because you've done something messed up to your bf/gf? Even if they don't find out (bad luck)?

For me, it varies depending on the relationship and how it ended. I haven't lost any good or close friends, but have lost some friends I met through the Girlfriend I just went through a breakup with. I've remained FB friends with past GF's and some of their friends. I definitely stop hanging out with any mutual friends we had, regularly at least.

With my last breakup, I ended up deleting my ex-GF and a lot of the friends I met through her. I still see some of our mutual friends out and about, we're still friendly. I used to avoid driving by her house and places I might see her. Now it doesn't matter.

Sometimes, I'm depressed and other times it just seems right. Relationships and breakups are really a case by case deal.

For a while, I got depressed but then I learned that it's for the best and things do happen for a reason and now I'm wiser and better (maybe a bit bitter) but still better and STILL alive, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" type of thing.

And sometimes I * am * known to overreact so...

but otherwise it doesn't really bother me whatsoever, especially if we weren't courting/dating for that long.

And there were obvious reasons for the break up.

He deleted me from social network, also.

There has been a point where I rather use different routes because he only lives 5 blocks away and I have encountered him twice while driving, but it's hard. One day I can pretend he is not in my mind, but then night comes and I dream about him, and the next day I'm feeling like crap.

We never introduced friends and family so that isn't much of a problem

i deleted my ex off too because she's annoying. I think of the good times we had together also.. Pretty much compared to my situation lol. Nothing should happen with you and your friends + friends after the break up, because they're the most important people in your lives. You'll find the right guy for sure next time!

My guy just disappeared after what I believe was a misunderstanding. He deleted me off Facebook, I didn't even bother asking what was wrong since deleting me off of social networking site is just lame and passive aggressive. I miss him but I will not lose my dignity begging him to find out what's wrong.

i had that same feeling too and agree that it is lame for exs to delete you off of social networks. I deleted mines because my ex is annoying.

It affect much when you have long term relationship with the one. And affect little when you have plenty of others to have fun.

Same situation to my oldest sister, who got dumped 7 years ago, from a 5 year relationship. At least it gets much easier to move on in couple months. It may sound hard to move on when you guys break up in days. Having a new boyfriend or friends oversupportive to you can help wash the long term relationship off.

i recently went through a break up but the only thing that it affected was my feelings, I have my friends and he has his friends so no drama in between. it just kinds of breaks my heart a little more when I see him with his new girl... and I miss talking to him but it's over now.

my f***ed up ex used to me to get to this one friend of mine and he became bffs with her and created tons of misunderstanding between us and on top of that he said so much bs about me to his friends who most of them are my mutual friends too...they think I am a bad girl when he himself was a liar cheater and an a**hole! I hate him..i hope karma bites him hard! hate his f***ing face!

same to my situation. it's just like they're treating you as strangers now. You can also forget about them. Maybe he's afraid if drama that might happen so that's why exs friends stops communicating with you in order to prevent problems.

when I broke up with my ex all of his friends came to blame and convince me to come back.everyone thought it was my fault to break up.so sometimes breaking up is really a tough.
