Usually a large woman at her physical best will give her best years to the top 20% of males and try to secure a relationship with them. Women will often offer up sex very fast for these men and readily make an effort to maintain a relationship in whatever fashion that might be. Basically giving up her best years until she hits her 'epiphany stage' and realize that the top 20% of males will not commit to her fully for a long term relationship.

The bottom 80% of males fight among the remainder of women who aren't exclusively chasing the top 20% of males for long term relationship. Many of these men remain sex/relationship deprived for years with some entering into their 30's as virgins.

These men in the 80% often rely on pornography as an outlet for their sexual releases since they have no other outlet; since prostitution is often stigmatized by society. Also many of them do not develop the skills in maintaining a healthy relationship because they have had so little experience of actual being in one and finding out what qualities are most important for them in a partner. Lastly, many of them aren't able to vet out women with clear red flags and are so thirsty for female attention they will accept women who are clearly bad deals (e.g. controlling, manipulative, social media addicts, mental illness, kids from other men, not over their exs, gold diggers etc).

Once the woman hit their 'epiphany phase', they often turn to the men in the 80% lot to pick and choose among them for long term relationship. Usually selecting among the males who are both agreeable and have built up resources for themselves. These men happily accept being second place trophies because they have been convince by society that women have matured and now appreciates the good guy who actual cares for them and will love them. In addition, many of them are just happy that they are getting positive female attention and regular sexual access/exposure to a relationship.

The woman will then marry the man or the couple will be in a long term relationship. This relationship often ends up being one where the man must put in way more effort than her exes in the past to get tamer, take on more adult responsibilities (paying bills, mundane everyday task of ltr/married couples, raising kids), be her unofficial psychiatrist about her mental problems she has developed from failed relationships in the past and often try to move up the social ladder to be on par or better than her friend's husbands.

Some men who they fail to meet all these task get trapped in hellish marriages, while others get divorced rape and have to pay their wife for life while she goes back out on the market to relive her youth chasing down top 20% of males on dating apps like tinder.

[This is also why women get pissed off at men who decide to date younger instead of women his own age. The reason being more men who do this, means less safety nets (beta providers) that a woman can rely if she ends up on the wrong side of 30 and fears being dying alone, never marrying or being childless.]

There's definitely evidence of all that.
It's why I try to encourage young guys to get serious and try to fall in love and settle down with a hot woman in your early 20's, when you're both still broke and attractive like I did.
That way even if the marriage falls apart 15 years later, I still got her all throughout her 20's and most of her 30's.
Now the guy she's with at 42 is kinda screwed compared to what we had.
