What to do when you and your friend like the same guy?

Okay so I recently met this guy. I had heard of him before but we'd never officially met and now that we have, we really seemed to hit it off. I knew I was into him and one of my friend thought he was into me too.

Only problem is apparently another one of my friends is already into him. Now I'm not that close with this girl but I know if I ever start dating this guy she'd be pissed and so would our other friends.

I honestly don't know what to do. It's not my fault if he likes me more than her, and it's not her's either. I would feel terrible if I stole him from her but it's been so long since I last dated someone it seems so hard to pass it up. Besides, doesn't the guy get a say in this?

I just don't have anyone to confide in. All my friends know she's into him and if I said anything they'd freak. I think I'm just going to slowly become better friends with him and see where it goes? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Honey so this happened to me and I didn't really know the other girl very well, she just sat with us at lunch because she was friends with one of my friends. Anyways she always went on about this guy called Dominic, and a while ago I got a text from him asking if I played hockey. Which I do and we started chatting about sports and it just went from there. We talked every night and yes I was very much into him. And I told some of my really close friends who thought it was a bad idea. But he asked me to a dance so ofc I said yes, anyway that girl who liked him got so upset and she guilt tripped me so bad, I ended up breaking it off with Dominic. Long story short, poor her she'll get over it. Go for him.

Here is what I would do, there are some friends who I am not best friends with but I consider them my friends.. basically if they are my friends I got their back.

Which means that If I know that they like a guy, then I would not pursue any interest in the guy, nor would I try to get his attention or hope for his attention.
