Why do I hate being loved?

I know this may sound strange but it's true. I get a sick feeling in my stomach and I just get kind annoyed and i try to change the subject when someone shows any signs that they like or love me. It holds me back so much and it's probably one of the reasons why I've never had a girlfriend. What's wrong with me?

There are 2 possibilities that I can think of.

First: Maybe you are confusing it with your interest of yourself in that girl who is showing you signs of love. You said you have a sick feeling in your stomach. That may be the famous "butterflies in the stomach"?
And if you were annoyed maybe that girl was getting on your nerves because you just aren't interested in her?

Second:
Maybe you just aren't ready. You just don't want to start a relationship yet, but you want a girlfriend because everyone else is having girlfriend.

But really don't stress yourself over such things.
One of my favourite sayings is:
Love is coming if you are at least expecting it.

You are normal, I would get sometimes annoyed of flirting guys too. Sometimes I am not even aware of it.

Omg yessss!!! This is me!!! People I know tell me, I'll get over it as I get older. I think I like the chase. It's exciting at first and then when they like me I'm repulsed by them lol. I can flirt all day. I just don't know. Mabey just gotta give it time to develope feelings. I know I do it so I dont get hurt but also so I don't loose part of my freedom. It's nice to meet up with the guy or gal but now I gotta make time out of my schedule for the person hahaha. I also hate affection in public. I want to flirt but I can't with other people if I'm talking to someone. I can get love from my friends.

i feel like that... I don't know im not used to expressing feelings or dealing with it. maybe its just expo eeriness. you're young so there's time. if you dont want it then it does not matter. if you do then work on dealing with it. thats all. you deal with it or you dont. nothing magical. but figure out what you want.

yeah me too. so people showing feelings for me can feel really weird and alienating even thigh its supposed to feel good or whatever.

It sounds like you're unused to it, or you just don't like the feeling of commitment. I used to be the same, but when you start to grow feelings for that person, it washes away.

Oh boy, there are many many factors that can contribute to this. My main guess is that you have a fear of relationships. This may be a case of the Hedgehog's dilema. You may be so afraid of getting to close to someone because you fear that you will either hurt someone or get hurt yourself. Now I don't know if that is it for sure, but it could be a possibility.

Either you have philophobia or you've been betrayed by somebody who said they loved you in the past and don't recognise it. It often sneaks up on you.

It could be commitment issues. I understand. I feel that, too. Whenever I get too close to someone, I want to back out. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. Sometimes it saves you from people you don't want to get involved with, and it can also keep you from something amazing. I know the feel, and it really sucks sometimes.

Maybe your just scared of someone loving you, I was like you once but just let go if this feeling and if anyone shows that they love you don't push them away because you maybe missing out on something great

I'm like that but it's because I have extremely low self confidence so it's like I don't want to believe it
