Why are girls expected not to fart?

Question

Okay so to make a long story short, I have never been comfortable farting in front of anyone (especially boyfriends!) It's honestly the most embarrassing thing ever and makes people laugh at your expense which is why I avoid it as much as humanly possible. However, it has happened on accident once or twice in some of my relationships and needless to say I was beyond mortified! The guy has always reacted the same way. He laughs his ass off and keeps playfully bringing it up, adding to my humiliation. Why are guys so amused by it? Meanwhile the girl is so embarrassed and wishes to erase it from her memory LOL. Most of my boyfriends had no problem farting in my presence and didn't think twice about it! Whenever I did it by accident, they would make it seem like I was the only girl in the would capable of doing that! :P Why do guys make a big deal out of it when a girl farts for first time in front of them? Why does he purposely tease her about it? I know this is totally random but I'm curious!

Most guys find potty humor amusing so a simple thing like a fart will (literally) make them laugh their asses off.

Why are girls not expected to fart? Because although farting is natural and everybody does it, it is seen as "unlady like" and "rude," especially if done in a public setting. Women are expected to uphold an image of perfection and it's stupid and unfair.

Don't feel bad about farting because you gotta remember that everyone does it. If it happens on accident, try to make a joke out of it. Feeling embarrassed will only make your partners tease you more. Lol.

Or you know you could just talk with your boyfriend and express how you want to be comfortable around them but you can't when they do this. before my boyfriend and I moved in together I told him straight up that around my period farts slip left right and centre and what I need from him is to pretend nothing happened and that is just what he's done. If you don't date an asshole this stuff is pretty easy.

But I totally get why you'd be embarrassed. Us girls aren't supposed to fart, be hairy, sweat... otherwise we're "one of the guys" and no guy wants to screw their mate.

I took off my belt, unzipped my pants, pulled down my skivies, and proceeded to lay down a fresh warm nugget on her forehead to let her know who runs the fucking show. It is more of a joke on society than you. They are laughing at your action not you. All guys kind of react the same way to an extent women also do. To a guy a fart will always be funny. When you fart your reminding the guys that your human and not just some pretty thing. With guys teasing is often a sign of affection. Unlike girls we often jokingly insult our friends in a way that they know we're joking. So often we stupidly do the same thing with women we comfy with. Which hurts your feelings.
Next time guys tease you about it show that your hurt and mad or sad at thier actions. Be verbal about it even. If your shy. They will stop.

So let me get this straight...
You want to know why girls are expected no to fart, because you have chosen not to and when you do the guys generally just laugh it off and make it a joke because you turn it into something more than it is.
You (and other girls) made not farting a thing and because you all refuse to do it, when it happens it is weird because it is now not common.
But as you proven, we don't make a big deal about it. If we did, we would be like "GROSS OMG I can't believe you just did that." instead of simply laughing it off.

Because they know that you were trying to hide it from them. And they know you slipped up, which is just funny. They tease you because they know that you are really embarrassed. Its just comedy.
They will stop teasing you once you are no longer embarrassed. Then they have no ammo. Dont worry, most guys think its cute. They just tease for the lolz.

These things tend to go away after you grow into your relationship more.

I never purposely did it in front of my ex, who I was with 25 years.
For me, it is about showing respect to her. While i am not comfortable I really don't care if she does in front of me. However, I will never joke around about it and I certainly don't find it funny. I would just ignore it and never bring it up again...

I grew up in a house where farting was regarded as hilarious, and I've never really grown out of it. I will not fart amongst people I don't know well but when with my boyfriend or friends if I need to do one I'll stick my ass out and fart loud and proud ha ha.

I don't know. But I read that those that hold in their farts are prone to health issues. So, for your health's sake, fart away!!! Granted, the farts may not smell good. But at least you'll be healthier. Either fart into a toilet (if possible) or fart outside and away from people.

Guys are the same around new girls anyway. Was actually talking about this last night. How I was holding one forever while on a date (think it was like the 4th one with this girl) and she made me laught and it sorta slipped out and was VERY audible. I was very apologetic and she was like "it's fine that's how I want us to be around each other, comfortable"
