Will you ever date/marry someone with a terminal illness?

And no i am not talking about the STDS here, there are a hundred other terminal illnesses. Will you consider marrying/dating someone who has one?
Lets say that illness won't be passed to your kids and what if there are chances that the disease might pass on.
I am not dating anyone but one of my friends has keratoconus ( its a condition of the eye where your cornea is bulged out, and you always have to see the lens and cannot see without it, and it only worsens with age )
He is a really nice guy and i like him a lot, i just think he deserves someone better than me, well thats not even something that i asked. So would you ever go for someone like that?

It is best for those who have a terminal illness to remain celibate and not marry or date. Let alone have kids. They will be considered the same as eunuchs. It is not wise. Unless God intervenes supernaturally to help with that family, no. My mother died with MS and cancer. MS runs in my family heavily from both sides of her family. I will not pass that down. But if they want to, you can't stop them. It would be a beautiful thing to do. But that is a lot of responsibility to take on. And many people won't and cannot handle the stress. Especially in marriage, or when sex and children are involved. It's too much. And I feel that a lot of people who jump into this have no idea of how hard this kind of life is. And that also depends on the terminal illness as well. Don't feel bad! If you can't handle it, it is best to be honest with yourself now, or end up hurting that person and yourself. Never take on baggage you can't handle and be responsible for.

If I met a guy and I liked his personality.. I'd date him. If I fell in love with him then I'd marry him.

Everyone dies one day. I could get married tomorrow and my husband could be diagnosed with a terminal illness next week , so I'd marry or date a terminally ill guy if I loved him. I'd cherish the short time we had together.

A person can become terminally ill at any stage in a relationship , so knowing he was terminally ill when I first met him wouldn't be a deal-breaker. I wouldn't date him out of pity though . I'd only pursue a relationship with him if I loved him

Honestly, yes I would. There is nothing wrong with certain illnesses like that. I think if you honestly really like him that you should go for it! If you feel like you know him well enough to actually go into a relationship with him you have to make sure that you know the consequences of marrying a person with an illness.
1. Medical Bills
2. The child may inherit the illness.
3. How long you can deal with the disorder.
If these problems don't seem like a problem, I would consider dating him if you really think you may have a future together.

I think I would. If I really was interested in them then I would want to spend as much time with them as life would allow. Nobody is promised forever. I could date someone healthy and a tree fall on them at night and kill them, or I could date someone who is terminally ill and take the sams risk. We are all getting closer and closer to death and nobody knows how long or short their path is.

nah I'm fine, I've learned to control it slightly. but everything I'm not looking directly at is doubled while what I look at is single until i lose concentration or my eyes just hurt from focusing too long

My partner has a form of disease/illness but it's not termanil and nor is what you said your friend has...

My partner has Ulcerative colitis. He has a cocktail of pills every day and recently had a colonoscopy. He's been on steroids which fucked with his weight obviously, and he has a higher risk of skin cancer.

Oh he also has the herpes virus in his left eye.

You love people for who they are, and not just what they look like. Remember that. If you were to ever date/marry someone with a terminal illness, be with them! You are lucky they let you in their life because they're comfortable with being around you! Support them! Tell them they are a blessing to be here and that illnesses are just there to bring people's confidence down. To answer your question, yes. I would, even if the guy I go for has anything wrong with him.

If I love the man enough and I know I am capable to deal with the trouble ahead of us, then yes. Things changes after people get to know each other deeper and deeper. But before you tell him, make sure you are ready for anything that might come.

I wish my sisters boyfriend had your courage. He bailed on her after 4 years of a relationship. She got sick he bailed and though now looking back I assume he was scared but still sometimes when I see him i still feel resentment towards him how he did her.

I think it's more how he went about it that upset everyone the most. You get scared that's one thing but you don't just up and leave like that after 4 years then show up at her funeral. I agree everyone is different, but in the end sometimes we never took into consideration how he was feeling.

Depends on the level of intensity the illness has and their life expectancy. There is a difference between an illness where most people who have it die in their mid 30s and an illness where a lot die in their 50s.
