What Does It Mean To Be "Wife Material"?

Question

What separates a girl who is wife material from one who is girlfriend material? Is wife material better than girlfriend material? Don't you have to be girlfriend material in order to be wife material? Is one a compliment and the other not?

All women are tempted towards sins like envy, but not all women act on their impulses. In spite of what many observe in the West, I have met many virtuous women: few sexual partners before marriage, respectful, submissive to their husbands, physically fit, feminine, good mothers. Most are in the older generations, especially before the Boomers. Most are involved in traditional religion. There are fewer younger women who are virtuous, and every single one that I have met is involved in traditional religion. They tend to be more rural, from small churches.
Traditional religion can be extremely helpful to finding and vetting women. It provides a community with certain values that you want in a woman, and it provides reliable references for a person’s character. A woman who spent her younger years “out in the world” and came back at 29 be a “born-again-virgin” is a red flag, but a woman in her early 20s who teaches Sunday School and helps with the potluck dinners is far more likely to be wife material. The older women in the church will usually let you know if a woman is a whore.
Traditional religion acts as a curb (but not a cure) for women’s immoral, rebellious, destructive behavior. My wife goes to a women’s bible study group, where she often receives instruction from older religious women. This includes things like telling her to be submissive to me, lose weight and be healthy, not waste money, have cheerful sex on a regular basis, and to learn how to get some control over her emotions:
"Teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands. (Titus 2:3)"
One of my wife’s friends once corrected her attitude toward sex, saying: “you need to view your body as a sheath for your husband’s sword.” She now routinely thanks me after we have sex. I am not a natural alpha, but I have little fear that my wife is going to suddenly cut off sex if I have a minor slip up.
With this great power comes great responsibility. As a patriarch, I am commanded to lead my family, instructing my wife and kids on how to act properly, with genuine love for their well-being. I must be on top of my game, be physically fit, and think rationally when my wife is irrational. I attend a men’s Bible study, where we talk about leading as men.

What Does It Mean To Be "Wife Material"?

i think it depends on the person you are marrying. to be wife material would be to complete a person. to be their other half. its hard to know how to do everything. so while some can cook and work. other can clean and take care of kids. or any combo of responsibilities. if the guy is really good with being patient with kids, and has a great job, but cooking and cleaning are too overwhelming, his wife material would be a woman who can and doesn't mind cooking and cleaning. "wife material" is subjective. its based on opinion person to person.

Wife material is someone who you could be happy spending the rest of your life with. Girlfriend material is someone who you enjoy spending time with and want to spend the foreseeable future with. I think they're both compliments, but someone who is wife material is someone who you see yourself raising kids with and enduring trying and delightful times with. Someone who is girlfriend material is someone who you see yourself building a meaningful relationship with.

Yes, wife material is better than girlfriend material, a wife material is someone with whom you would love to spend your whole life, but when it is a girlfriend material, there are chances that break up will happen. Some guys who don't want anything serious, and when their girlfriend turns out to be a wife material, they may leave her because of it, saying the excuse 'Relationship is getting too serious, you are a wifey material...'.

I am going to guess that wife material is someone you bring to on family vacations, expect to play hostess, and who you feel is a beneficiary in case you die. Basically, someone you want to marry. Girlfriend material is the fun dating part, where you get to know a girl and not necessarily plan long term. I guess the goal is to graduate from girlfriend material to wife material.

girlfriend material is psychologically perceived as much more fun to be with whereas wife material to a person (in most cases) sound boring. It is an image which we generally see in our surroundings. For example, a wife stays with you for years and usually you live a routine with her. same schedule each day and usually same moves in bed too lol whereas when you live with a girlfriend you are going so you have lots or things going on in your life, you go out often and enjoy life together and there is also a feeling of no bondage to live together. Don't think that this bondage can be broken by divorce because divorce happens usually when couple are in conflict but otherwise it is just a boring life (kind of) It is like eating salad every day. wife material is not an insult. it depends on the situation in which it is said. if someone calls you wife material and rejects you then it means that he is looking for casual flings and short term relationships and don't want to get in a relationship which is not committed like of a marriage.

It means you've got amazing sex appeal and compatibility but with an added component of respect. A hot girl has sex appeal, but a girl who's wife material will be hot and have her shit together. The last girl I called wife material was hot, a former scholarship gymnast at the Air Force Academy, an NPC figure competitor, and a mechanical engineer. She had an amazing personality and high emotional intelligence to go along with everything else.
