What is a "contemporary relationship", and what is a "religious" relationship in your opinion?

The guy I like asked me if we should date the other day, and then he asked if I wanted a contemporary relationship, or religious. I thought the difference was in a religious one, there's no sex til marriage, and in the other one, I assumed there is sex before marriage, but he said that's not quite right. He was about to explain the difference to me, but we were interrupted by his friend who showed up just at that moment. I can't wait to finish our conversation to find out what each one is lol!

Contemporary means do you intend to sleep with other people or date other people. By religious I assume he means will you be monogamous.

contemporary might mean temporary
religious is where no sex before marriage etc
