Traditional or modern relationships?

Traditional:

The woman doesn't work or contribute financially. Most of the woman's time is spent on looking good and little time is spent on education or career. The guy works long hours and brings home the bacon. He is responsible for affording everything. Both parties are expected to be somewhat celibate before marriage but especially women. The woman is expected to have kids and cook and clean. The guy is conscripted to the army for a minimum for 12 months.

Modern:

Both parties work and make similar incomes. Both spend same time on hobbies and going gym and sharing housework etc. If they decide to have kids they both take on part time work (3:2 or 2:3 split whichever). Celibacy is not important and both parties had similar # of sexual partners before. Both parties still surprise each other with cute gifts and thoughtful gestures. No army conscription for men.

I prefer the modern version where both parties do both. I feel like traditional view is outdated because not all women want to be housewifes. I would like to contribute to the household but I would find it disrespectful if only I cooked and cleaned and took care of children. I would rather work too and we both cared for our house and our children and us and we would both buy what we need. Also army conscription should be by choice.

I want a mix between the two while I stay home doing the cooking and cleaning. Also, being submissive to my husband. However, having a remote job as well

Most modern relationships exist that way as a matter of necessity; the cost of living is simply too high for a single income to support the family.

I personally make/will make enough to support a family on my own, so my partner will have the freedom to choose how she wants to live, but that’s definitely not a normal situation.

I prefer a number 1 plus homeschooling responsibilities/marry smart. Number 2 is fine too as long as equally yoked as that removes lots of issues.

I think these two descriptions are tooo general. And don’t accurately represent the dynamic of a relationship very well. Every relationship dynamic is different and could combine any number these variables plus more. So it’s unwise to pick one

I think you have a very twisted view of "traditional relationship". Most of a woman's time is not spent "looking good" in a traditional relationship.
