Do you disagree with modern feminism, but also do not want traditional gender roles (For yourself, at least)?

I'm a liberal, and I always have been. But not in the way you think. Gun control, "undocumented immigrants", diversity quotas, blah blah blah. I see myself as a liberal because I am willing to question tradition.

You'd think that because of this, I support feminism. Well, I don't. To be clear, I'm not talking about women getting the right to vote, work, and having equal pay. Feminism as a whole has been corrupted. It's gone from getting rid of women's disadvantages in society, to demonizing men.

Feminism teaches women that they live in a rape culture (they don't), they will get paid less than men despite working the same job AND just as hard (They won't), masculinity in men is toxic (It isn't), women being feminine is weakness, (it isn't) and so much more.

Worst of all, feminism is teaching people that men and women are one and the same. We are not. Men and women are different physically, mentally, and emotionally. Men are taller, more athletic, more aggressive, more dominant, and tend to find joy in protecting and providing for women.

Women are shorter, weaker and slower, more gentle, more submissive, and tend to find joy in relationships, nurturing, and helping their family.

I want feminism to end in America, but at the same time, I don't want a complete return to traditional gender roles. Not all men and women are the same. Some men are more feminine or submissive than others, and some women are more masculine or dominant than others. And I mean NATURALLY, not because of social engineering.

Personally, I've made it clear in my previous questions that I will NEVER date a feminine and submissive woman. As for American society, I want it to become more nuanced.

I want our culture to respect that men and women are different and have different roles, but also respect that not all men and women want to fulfill their gender's roles.

So do you disagree with modern feminism, but at the same time, don't want traditional gender roles to any extent?

I'd argue that it hasn't really been corrupted- if you go back and actually read was written by the signatories of the Seneca Falls declaration, you'd find very little that wouldn't fit right in with the modern crap; it's gotten more tolerant of lesbians and bisexuals, and MUCH friendlier on race (give Sojourner Truth's "Ain't I woman" speech a readthrough; she'd be FURIOUS if she knew what her name was being used to support), but other than that, not much has changed.

But that's not really what you were asking. Gender roles grew naturally out of the paths our evolution took. Now that most of the survival-based society dangers have passed, many claim they're out of date. But that's not how evolution works. Do I want the old roles gone? Not really; they're actually what most people are happy doing, more or less. But I'd like to the social compulsions around them gone. Little Susie wants to be a stay-at-home mom? Cool. She wants to be a molecular biologist? Great. She wants to be a bikini supermodel astronaut? Hell, I'd be impressed if she could even find a way to EXPLAIN that, let alone achieve it. And the same deal for little Johnny.

I say let people find what works for them, and make their own happiness, which I think is pretty much what you're going for.

I agree with you. The funny thing with gender roles is that in a 100 years it went from one extreme (being looked down upon if you're not a housewife), to the other extreme (being looked down upon if you are a housewife). It's so dumb to think that someone is weaker just because they have a different, nonmonetary, way of supporting their family. And that isn't at all to say that you have to be a housewife. People, regardless of sex, should just be themselves and do what makes them happy.

I mostly agree with you. Traditional gender roles aren’t for everyone. Certainly not for me, and I wish parts of society would get over it and quit trying to make me confirm or feel like I should be a submissive woman. I’m not and I’ll never be.
The thing that I don’t like about modern feminism is that it’s so drunk on being a victim of everything.
I prefer a victor mentality, not victim.
If I want something in life, I fucking take it. I work for it. And I earn it. I don’t need permission and I won’t whine or apologize about it.

Watch a family /children's movie of the modern age... all husband's and men are NOT manly, if ANYTHING they whine, and complain and the women picks up the slack as the man just wittles away, it's kinda disgusting. We're teaching our young boys how NOT to be a man, gender roles aside men have been protectors and steel reserve and a strong character, if I'm 17yr son crystal cu he broke his skateboard, I'd slap him

I agree with all of that except I would date a feminine and submissive women. I'm a masculine man, why the hell would I not want a feminine woman? To me, there is no bigger turn off than a woman who behaves in masculine ways. I also have a dominant personality so I naturally prefer a submissive partner. To each their own.
