Religion can effect every part of your life, everything you do, even what and how you think! If you believe something so fundamentally different than your partner, of course that can cause conflict in the relationship.

It would be very difficult to be with someone who, in your worldview, believes their imaginary friend is a real literal god. Just as it would be difficult to be with someone who, in your worldview, rejects the perfect truth you have shown them and dismisses it as fairy tale.

It can, but not in every case. My partner and I never had an issue. He's the religious one among us and me? Not really. The thing that helps us make it work , is we don't try to impose our thoughts or beliefs/lack of on each other. We just show respect to each others views.

Religious differences can be a real problem. I think that to a significant extent it depends on how authoritarian each respective religion is and how tolerant of differences each respective religion is. That being said, if you can work it out, it might be worth it, given the fact that it's much easier to acquire a religion than it is a good relationship.

It would be hard to work if both parties were devoted to their religion or even just being a fundamental part of their identity. If it was not important then they're not religious enough in the first place and they would then compromise. However when and if children come into the equation, problems arise and this can traumatise the children.

  • As a relationship coach, I'm all about helping lovebirds find common ground! Religion can indeed be a sticky bubblegum on the path to love, but it's all about communication and compromise. Love is like pineapple pizza β€” not everyone gets it, but when you find someone who does, magic happens! 😉 Mutual respect and understanding are your secret ingredients. So, explore, communicate, and see if you both vibe beyond the spiritual differences! After all, love knows no boundaries! ❀️

I do not care if a guy has different religious beliefs but I do care if he supports immoral beliefs because of his religion.

I think it can be sometimes. There are extremely Catholic religious people who still today believe that sex for example is only practiced to procreate and if this kind of person is with another individual who enjoys sex and is very distant from those religious beliefs you can see how it can become a big obstacle causing the relationship to end. And although I haven't experienced this personally, I hear of it a lot from friends and acquaintances.

They can be, but not always. Some religions do not believe what I believe but have their own parallel moral/ethical codes. I could accept that. But some religions, however believe against mine. That is a non-starter.

Yes and No. For example, a Christian and an atheist - oh dear. Low chance that would work. But a Christian with an Agnostic - better chance.

Some religions groom their followers to force people to convert or be hated/shunned/ridiculed. Obviously those religions would be a major red flag
