Why do people hate virgins so much?

I'm a 20 year old guy and I'm still a virgin. I'm waiting for the right person to lose my virginity to. The thing is, I personally NEED an emotional connection to even feel comfortable being that close with someone physically. What I don't understand is why people have to insult me for it. I get called out on it so often. I've been pressured multiple times in my dorm to have casual sex with a girl who I barely know, to which I've turned it down each and every time. Do girls really care about it that much?

No, I'm a Christian that's trying to adhere to Christian morals, and much like you even if I did have sex before marriage it would have to be with someone I loved and had an emotional connection to, not some random stranger. I've gotten asked for sex often enough... by guys that wouldn't remember who I was the next week and didn't want any relationship with me farther than the bedroom. I've gotten very good at saying no. In terms of the no boyfriend, I simply refuse to settle for someone I don't want just so I can say I have somebody - and when the only guys asking me out are old men, the morbidly obese, or guys that flat out state they want in my pants, again, its easy to say no. (and for the record I'm thin, work out, get told I'm "too cute to be single", etc.) I take relationships seriously and won't date anyone I couldn't see myself spending the rest of my life with. In short, I don't "play" and I think that's why I have dating problems.

Anyway, to answer your question - I don't have any problems with a guy being a virgin.

I think it is really great to do that it was the original way to start with don’t give in to pressure I would of loved to been able to stay a virgin but my ex basically raped me so I didn’t have that chance but you stay strong I love that men and hopefully woman still like that cause now a day it’s awful stds cause if dummy’s just having sex like it ain’t nothing sex is a important and spiritual connection with your loved one every time you have sex a part of you is given to that person and people don’t care anymore that’s why you see all these murders aka abortions and divorces and cheating and stds and teens being pregnant without even know who the dad is it’s just awful so you are a rare gem and don’t let nobody change your mind

Don't do it. There are many people out there that also wait & don't wait and they both don't care about the status of your virginity. There is a bigger & more mature world besides your dorm. People don't hate virgins... it's just your dorm floor & college. Girls don't mind it if they genuinely like you & have the mental capacity to overlook something so shallow & that can be easily learned. . . Especially if you're comfortable with the person. It's not a big deal until you wait too long tho cause then I suspect something's wrong with you personality wise if you haven't had a serious girlfriend by say maybe 30.

No, I am still a virgin, and i prefer it if a guy was too. I do not like players or guys who think sex is only a recreational past time. And who cares what your roommates or college buddies think? I could care less what the world thinks of me. I am as nice and respectful as need be, but I draw boundaries when it comes to my dignity. And I do not know if girls do care, but I really really don't. I'd rather my man be a virgin than "experienced." I'd hate to think of all the possible STDs I may contract, or the fact that he's slept with ten other chicks besides me.

I think you pose an interesting question. While I was growing up, the surprising thing about being a virgin was that girls made fun of me just as much as boys did. But many women pretend that they don't have this expectation of men. And it is funny that everyone assumes this to be true. But you won't find many women here honestly talking that way about their expectations of men or of a man's sexuality. I guess most are embarrassed about that. Or could be that many live in the illusion that women are to virtuous to have these kinds of beliefs or exhibit this type of behavior.

I suspect that it’s mainly the people who thought of the first time as something you just have to get over with before getting to find the one you actually want to be with. I’m a virgin myself and still waiting, had a chance at 17 with my then-boyfriend but he tried to push me into doing it and became very possessive and though it was okay to rub his hands all over my body in public -needless to say that it didn’t last very long.
I think that it must be easier for a girl to be a virgin, because if you sleep around with everyone they call you a slut, but with guys society has twisted our minds into believing that being a virgin is bad, makes you a loser and such, but sleeping around makes you popular.
One of my best guy friends was a virgin until 21, lost it to one of my friends and they are still together -so now I’m the only one in danger of becoming a human sacrifice 😂😂😂

Everyone was a virgin at one point, it all depends on the person. Some people lose it at 13, 16, 18, etc. Don’t give it up just because people are pressuring you into it, do it when you’re ready. Society is monsterous, they have this thought that if you’re a male and you haven’t had sex by a certain age that you’re a so called “loser” or that you’re “lame” but if you’re a female and you have HAD sex by a certain age you’re automatically a “whore,” or a “slut.” Definitely wait for the right person, and believe me, you’ll know..

I'm guessing because it doesn't follow the status quo of society. Society tends to encourage people (especially younger ones) to have sex (at least they did at one point). Or maybe they are jealous because they are no longer a virgin and they wish they still were. That's quite typical in college.

because morals are somehow considered lame or stuck up now. either that or you get called gay or lesbian depending on your gender for having them. it's mostly insecurity on their part. most girls don't really care, i was happy that i was my boyfriend's first, it showed how important i was and his own values, and i know a lot of other girls would be too. not all granted but since you want an emotional connection, which is great, she'd either not care or be happy about it
