Have you ever experienced love at first sight?

I don't remember the exact date and time when I met her, but I was at work setting up a room for a wedding and she passed in front of me. The moment I saw her all sound disappeared and it was like she was on center stage with a spotlight behind her (I know, weird). From that moment I couldn't get her out of my mind for about a year. I noticed some coworkers decorating her office for her birthday and despite only basic greetings to her I bought her a gift. A couple of weeks later I asked her out and she told me she was seeing somebody, which was true by the way. Even after this, I noticed she was also sick for a few days so I went out of my way to get her some tea with honey lemon and spices to make her feel better ( on my day off I might add).
Eventually, I left my job and haven't seen her for a year or a year and a half. I still think about her from time to time and up to this point in my life just a mere appearance of a woman has never triggered at me before. I've been the guy to never approach his crush and seeing her drove me to break out of my comfort zone. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think experienced love at first sight... sometimes I wonder if she even kept that gift and wonders what came of that awkward nervous guy. The weird thing is, I want her to be happy with her man. I feel like it would be wrong to selfishly hope for a break up, even if it meant I got a chance.

That sounds like a very nice feeling, doesn't seem like your emotions were a roller coaster ride, and it seems like your emotions were truly pure. I can tell because you didn't stalk her when she said she was with someone, and you were able to keep your distance but still have feelings for her. You also wish that she will be happy with her man. That to me is real love.
I used to think that you can never have love at first sight, but I'm starting to reconsider now that i read your experience. I've never ever in my entire life had an experience where sound vanished and I felt only the two of us were in the room. That's a very unique experience, and I wish I could experience it for myself.
My question to you however, would be... do u think you loved her just to her appearance/physique? Or do you think you really did like her personality as well? Perhaps a guy can sometimes have a premonition of the girl's personality... maybe it's a spiritual thing where your soul really does feel things beyond this materialistic world.

Thank you and no, it wasn't just physical... though she is beautiful. I felt like I knew exactly who she was even though I didn't know her and I turned out to be right. Plus an awful lot of coincidences, it was weird.

Yes but it didn't last long when I found out who he was. It was very Romeo and Juliet like.

It was my first day of high school and as soon as I opened the door I met eyes with this handsome boy and it was like we were the only people in the room it felt so strange as if we already knew each other.

Then my friend informed me he was one of the most popular boys in school and was a total jerk as well as having a girlfriend allready but still stalked me for the next 2 years and made his girlfriend have a public mental brake down because of it.

Oh wow that's quite the story haha, too bad it ended that way though. To answer your question it was a hotel, they do hold many events there though.

I have. I saw him in the third year of uni and everything whent quite and slower around me and I thought to myself "I can spend my life with a guy like that". Three months later he approached me and we were together 11 months. It's strange but even if you think someone is your soulmate, they can not think the same

Her name was autumn and I immediately was drawn to her when I had class with her. I became her friend then and a year later I tried REALLY hard to ask her out. I then got sick and was out of school a couple days and she got super worried and called me. We talked to each other non-stop and started dating seriously. We got engaged and everything but the story doesn't end well. She left me for someone else and it fucked me up pretty bad.
You don't know what you'll get out of life, but it's best to not live with any regrets. She may have broke my heart completely, but I wouldn't give away a second of the time I spent with her. So take chances, you never know what you'll get in life. I Hope this helps you.

Think its more about definition of being in love, and for me it’s about the person, showing you, who they are, which is required, and to do that, you must get to know them for who they are, not the feeling they give you, chemistry between you, when connecting, and it’s much more than chemistry and feelings of connection, it’s about behavior, like for example, when someone asks you, does your mother love you? And you say yes. And they ask, “how do you know?” You aren’t going to say because of how you feel about one another, which frankly can be done at a distance, you are going to say, because I know she does, because of the things she does, or I can count on her doing and so on... Im not saying chemistry isn’t super important, it is, and maybe it’s so good, it is a sign, but I think much more is available to add to it, than chemistry
