Have you ever dated someone with borderline personality disorder?

What was it like?

I'm in a relationship with a bpd female. She told me she was a borderliner when we first started talking.

Now that I've moved in with her, she's starting to display more symptoms. Heavy mood swings. she wants intimacy and then within a minute she doesn't want me anywhere near her and suddenly can't stand the sight of me. Came home another day and she was in an extremely depressive state... telling me she had cleaned the house so that she could kill herself. There are many other things I've observed.

I love her and I want to be with her. When it's good, it's good.. but I know this will take a toll on me in the long run..

What was your experience like? Is it worth it?

Most of my gfs have been so, so yes. And that what it is, it's great when it great but the worst when it ain't.
Worth it? That's up to you. But it didn't stop me dating another one though it is one of those things of why am I doing this to myself again. They all have same symptoms but like everyone they are individuals so I just wouldn't judge them the same as each other hence to the reason dating someone else with Bpd ain't a problem to me.

The only two things that are gonna happen is they will either drive you away or things will work out.

So what do you think keeps attracting you to people with borderline personality disorder?

I am a loner a bit of weirdo so my type is usually someone weird to which often people with bpd are weird lol. Along with they normally make first moves, and myself gets attached pretty quickly due to limerence which is a trait people with Bpd also have so I find it very easy to become attached to them and feel a connection. As so do they towards me.

My former girlfriend was very Bipolar, I hated it. She would love me one instance and as you mention it could turn on you without notice. Mine would get mad and get verbally abusive, it would manifest into mental and emotional abuse. I had to leave her because she refused to seek help.

Yeap, currently am since late 2019. It's worth it if you both come to an understanding on what is an is not ok, and have well established boundaries.

Like for example, my girl is very paranoid and short tempered. She calmed down when I told her she can fuck around on my phone if she wants, no permission needed. So she can check at will to see if I'm up to anything, and thus calm down. But if she yells at me, she's getting thrown out for the day. Etc etc.

I have not, but my mother is one, and it caused, and continues to cause, my father and stepfamily massive amounts of depression and suffering. If she is open to seeking help, meds and therapy, then help her if you’d like, but being around an unregulated borderline will cause you a lot of stress in the long run.

Hey... So i had bpd and I'll tell you it's something... it's a hige huge struggle for both people involved so please get serious only if you are all in for it... Know what you getting yourself into do research and see how much you love her and of it's worth it
