Why does my crush take forever to reply sometimes?

SOME INFO:
i’ve been talking to this guy since Sunday on snapchat and we’ve been talking everyday. he would reply fast in those first couple of days, then he began to take longer to reply (like hours). sometimes i tell myself he’s just busy.. but then it shows he’s on social media because he’s watching my sc stories and his score is going up. when this happens i can’t help, but think he’s talking to another girl (at the same time i don’t like to assume because he does talk to a lot of people... his friends). he’ll either reply in under five minutes or 5 hours.. one day he didn’t even talk to me the whole day. then the next day left me on open and texted me later again.
his snapchat score goes crazy up all the time, that’s how i know he’s on social media. but at the same time i think he sends group snaps (not to me because he always uses my nickname when we snap)

ALSO.. we’ve never met each other because we go to different schools. he found my account on instagram and later added me on snapchat. then on Sunday, he began talking to me.

Holy shit, chill out. I often can't be bothered to reply to a text at a given time, forget about it, do something else, maybe Facebook or whatnot, and then only remember the text when I next pick up the phone. The crazy person in this scenario is you, not him.

the thing is that, i thought he was interested because he doesn’t go to my school but goes to a different one. he went out of his way to find my Snapchat and talk to me. why would someone do that just to become friends?
