Are high maintenance girls a turn off?

So recently I was informed that my crush didn’t like me back he admitted I seem too high maintenance and dating or even taking a chance on a “girl like me” would be too much work and he thinks i’d get too much attention from other guys.

I have also heard dads walk past me and tell their sons “that’s the type of girl you avoid, she’ll just take all you have” and boys telling their friends a girl like me would just cheat on them.

Similarly to the females pictured below, I do wear a lot of makeup everyday, which is well applied (im a makeup artist) and I do my hair everyday, even if it’s just for work or a class at college. I take a lot of pride in my appearance. but being judged for it it’s sad, because i am now superficial or self absorbed, i actually volunteer lots when I’m not working and i’m working towards a law degree and I have never had boyfriend therefore have never cheated obviously. Just sayin!

Really dolled up women do come across as high maintenance and are often classed as high risk. Guys learn that it's the prettiest of women that you have to watch out for. They tend to have the biggest egos and they tend to be the most likely to betray you.

An above average woman is actually far more datable and appealing than women who are at the top when it comes to attractiveness. The more attractive and done up a woman is, the bigger her ego is likely to be and the higher the risk that she'll stab you in the back. Men have grown wise to this. Especially older, wiser and more experienced men.

It is definitely going to be a turnoff for some guys (like me). I like physical activities, and would like you to join me in them. Mascara and volleyball/ultimate frisbee/jogging don't mix well :P

And yes, you are going to get a lot of attention from guys and there is a social stigma that you ARE "dolling yourself up" TO attract guys.

Yes, it is a turnoff. Me as an example: I love gardening and going to gym classes (due to my own health issue). I just can't picture you doing any of those activities with me since it involved a lot of physical activities (and sweating). Your makeup would be ruined within the first 10 mins.

Well, in this case I'm more worried about their lips getting stuck to things.
Aside from those photos... I don't know, There's different types of high maintenance people. If a girl needs to spend forever getting ready idc... or needs me to drive her places or shop, if she has a taste for finer things thats all fine. But if a girl is in a restaurant and she's super mad there's no cherry in her cocktail then its a problem for me. So high maintenance with grace is nice... high maintenance brat is scary.

I don't enhance my features, I don't even wear hair-gel or hair products; the only things I use is shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, beard shampoo and beard oil and that's more than enough. When a woman sees me, she sees who I really am in terms of my appearance, I'm not hiding my face behind make up or trying to enhance my appearance. The only reason I have a beard is because the skin on my neck gets irritated after shaving. I'd prefer a woman with a similar perspective to me.

Being pretty doesn't make you desirable. Looks are like bait, and personality is the hook. If the bait looks high maintenance, no fish will bite. (I broke the fishing analogy there.)

I know its not fair to judge based on appearance, but stereotypes exist for a reason: because they are sadly often true. They wouldn't exist if there was no truth to it.

I feel you but I've also met wommen like that growing up and they were the first on black guys and one night stands and cheating if they were loyal it would be different but most of these girls are selfish and dont care especially cause they are stuck up and think they are better.

They can be because instead of emotion its material and they may not be totally emotionally available due to upbringing or certain episodes that has transpired in their life. In this situation its quantity and not necessarily quality.

Good lord, look at the second one. It's awful. If this is what "high maintenance" is supposed to be then I think you're spending a lot of time a resources to look like a blow-up doll that wishes to consume my blood to sustain itself.
