Depends on what type of shy you mean, I said no tho. Cause I think someone more outgoing would be more down to new experiences or would even push me to do new things. See when I was a teenager, I was shy in private and in a bedroom with a girl too, a lot had to be taught to me, for me to become the person I am today. But I usually see girls going for confident and assertive guys rather than shy scared teenagers.
