Why would a guy call a girl every night just for a chat?
You might be thinking that it is because he likes you. You might be correct most of the time. But you also have to consider that there is a factor of availability. This is more along the lines of "why would a guy sleep with a girl if he didn't find her attractive?". Because she was available. Hence, it could be that he wants to talk to someone, and you are available.
One way to clear this could be by general attractiveness scale. If you are prettier or at least as attractive as him, he might probably like you. If he is more handsome, you have to cinsider that he probably would also get attention from more attractive girls. If not now, maybe later. You dont have to just assume that it means you dont stand a chance. Because some girls are just "perfect wife materials", even if they are not extremely beautiful. So he migh still like you. But what I am insisting on is to explore and dig deep.

Honestly? It could go either way anon. Yeah, he might be interested in you. Or he might like and enjoy talking to you so much, he considers you a good friend he can confide in. Trust me, I've been on both sides of the spectrum. I had a guy friend in college that called me every single day! No reason, he just liked to vent to me and discuss classes.
It can also depend on what he discusses with you: do you talk about random things, or more intimate topics?
