My first instinct when looking at it is to notice it doesn't split all the way back, and that if you pull on it you could make it split further. Admittedly my first instinct on body piercings isn't very pleasant either though, and plenty of people find those attractive, although I have no idea why.

Personally I find that very distracting and disturbing, if even only because of where my mind goes. Maybe it's not really that bad but it does look like it's just been cut down the middle. How did she even eat after they did that to her? Did she have to wear some sort of bandage on her tongue? Do they even have those?

To me, those people show a deep psychological problem by wanting to mutilate body parts, be it with piercings in inappropriate places or, like here, by having their tongue split. That serves no purpose but to shout out that the person is having a number of issues with their personality.

Rather than to perform those risky operations, the money would have been better investing seeking professional help and get that psychological issue addressed and corrected.
