No, of course not. What is even the purpose to mutilate a body part? I would place it on par with female genital mutilation (FGM) or male genital mutilation such as circumcision, which have absolutely no medical necessity to be performed.

To me, those that mutilate their bodies do have a deeply rooted psychiatric (not psychological) issue that should be addressed by a specialist.

These people do not think further than the tip of their noses if they think that a split tongue is something useful. I have to hear yet a valid medical reason as to why this has to be done. If anyone can give me a good reason, then I may change my opinion.
