Psychology studies are more often wrong than right. It’s pretty easy to see which variable attracted the guys. Guys were attracted to good looking women, and not attracted to ugly women. There cleverness had nothing to do with it.
Why do you conflate turned off with insicure/intimidated? Do you think you can shame men into finding intelligent women attractive? Intelligent women don't need us and men like to be needed and depended on, it's not anything to do with intimidation it's just a feeling an intelligent woman can't provide.
In other words, men aren't turned off by smart women, they are turned off by unattractive women.

That is a long way to say "Study confirms men are turned off by ugly women" lol
And it may be true for the majority, but not for me, I have dumped beautiful women for the sole reason that they were unintelligent. She's gotta be smart if she's going to be with me :)

"Study" yeah right. Effectively studying this is beyond the scientific establishment and its left wing academia. Even the format of the question to be studied is poorly thought out. Back to the drawing board.
I think intimidated is the wrong word I am not attracted to intelligent women. Obviously it's a plus but I dont expect it or care for it too much I care about a womans character and moral values. I can respect that more than cleverness.
"But they discovered men placed more emphasis on physical appearance." This is a "discovery"? LOL That statement is true whether the woman is intelligent, or if she's a blithering bimbo idiot.
That's a misinterpretation of the results. All this does is confirm that men are attracted to physically good looking women, that's not the same as saying men are turned off by intelligence.
Men are turned off by an unattractive woman, clever or not. It's not like they're thinking, she's ugly, but hey, she's dumb as dirt so that's kind of hot.
1st off it is a study of opinions. opinions are not facts. you will never get a universal opinion on anything and it stay universal throughout generations.
It makes a lot of sense to me, why would men be attracted to a woman if she is ugly? We have to do most of the work so we have the right to demand women be the best.

i feel compelled to remind you all that over 75% of all published social science studies are fake and proven wrong or unreproducable even after peer review https://www.theguardian.com/science/2015/aug/27/study-delivers-bleak-verdict-on-validity-of-psychology-experiment-results
psychology is a pseudoscience

"Unless she is beautiful"

The same is true of stupid women, no?
Men don't like ugly women regardless of their intelligence is how I would read that.
So..
Intelligent and not beautiful = No
Intelligent and beautiful = Yes
Dump and beautiful = Yes
Dump and not beautiful = No
And you come into conclusion that being intelligent is the turnoff factor and not the looks?

Oooooof. That sucks!!! I mean if it's a legit study thats pretty neat, but not for me
well there's a difference between clever than smart. Clever could mean she hides cheating easier. Being smart is a good thing though
Men do not care about your job or what you got on your SATs or what degree you have earned. They will be interested if you are physically attractive.
I suspect that they didn't control for personality traits, and those usually matter more than looks.
I don't find intelligent women intimidating at all..
Oh, and the girl in that graduation photo is freaking hot!

What are you talking about? If anything I would be repulsed by someone who was all body and no mind
