Yeah I can see that. Intelligence is more of a masculine quality. Why? Because men are supposed to be decision makers, planners, organizers, etc. Not that women can't do this but genetically men are more inclined to do so. Most men don't need nor desire intelligence. Sure some on here who have never been with a woman want one with every attribute known to man. They think this is ideal but it's outside reality. In reality it's not needed and if anything can cause problems in the relationship. Perhaps she feels she can do better if he's not the main bread winner. Perhaps she's more in the social crowd and he isn't. All this relates to intelligence. Intelligence is the pay for social status and high paying jobs. So again it's not a very desirable thing in the simplest form of sexual dynamics.
LOL... you serious? I don't want to talk to a complete moron who doesn't know nothing about nothing, she's embarrasses herself and I if we are in a public setting because she's super ignorant and lacks basic education and intellect about society, social awareness etc.
Lastly, reproducing with a woman who has poor intellect capacity severely can affect your children being born with poor intellect capacity as well since intellect capacity mostly is genetic.

@Hispanic-Cool-Guy What part of the smartest man in the world had regular parents don't you understand? There are many factors to consider when it comes to intelligence. Nurture being the most important. You also don't have to necessarily have intelligence to be successful. Also, who says I want kids? Also what if I'm intelligent and the child takes after me? Also, there are other skills/qualities that are very important that women have and could be passed down as well. If all you see is intelligence then that could lead to other problems that henders intelligence. For example I know a family where most of the kids are very intelligent. However due to the the mother and father having their own issues one of them despite being intelligent can't stay out of jail. He makes bad decisions regardless. Life isn't as binary as you put it.
I compete all day at work. When I am home I want to be me and relax. Were I to date smart woman it would be too much work; that is just too much effort and competition.
I don't want to date or marry a doorknob but, Lord help me, I couldn't marry a PhD, either. A female friend of mine's mother gave her daughter some advice: "Never marry a man who isn't as smart as you. He doesn't need the competition. "
TLDR: men want to be the king/supreme/person in charge at home. Of course they don't want a relationship with someone smarter than them.
This is not true where I'm from, at least in my experience. Most of the highly educated and successful men I've met like women with little education of much lower socio-economic status or women who are just as brilliant --if not more-- than them. Most men with 'regular' jobs go for self-sufficient women who are college educated. But like I said, this is what I see around me, not the absolute truth.

I don't think men want a complete loony, of course not, you must be able to have proper conversations, about tough subjects too, if you're going to spend your life with that person. I think the issue is 'relative' how clever they are.
I think men feel good when they are able to help you, solve a problem for you, get something right that makes you happy. Whenever a girl is really thankful and appreciative of something they've done, they get these puppy dog eyes. I also think there's some sexual type of boost in that, probably a masculine feeling, feels like a king. I can see why there is a slight turn off in a very clever woman.
Not true at all. Every guy i met has loved to have intelligent conversations. My current boyfriend said he hates girls that are stupid because talking to them is boring.
Just like women. How is that any different than how women think. Women only care about how smart a guy is if he is also attractive. It goes both ways. If that wasn't the case then why are there all these nerds out there who are virgins or don't have girlfriends? Same goes for nerdy "unattractive" women who are single.
Intelligent women are intimidating to insecure men of lower intelligence. So sure, women of superior intelligence will be unattractive to the majority of men. BFD. They are very attractive to highly intelligent men. This has become a drag on social mobility. Professional men used to marry secretaries, doctors married nurses, etc. Now professional men marry professional women, doctors marry each other.

The study doesn't give the women a chance to show if they are clever or not, so it only tests if men are attracted to beautiful women. Which we already knew.
There is also a huge difference between clever women and women who think they are clever. This study tests for neither.
I don't think that's right for me, I'm turned off by lack of intelligence. I'm kind of a sapiosexual. I can't date someone who can only talk gossip and rumours. I need a partner who can hold useful and intelligent convo.

I saw something similar, I don’t remember the source. It was saying pretty much the same thing, most men prefer women who aren’t as smart as them. Not that they don’t like smart girls that are more knowledgeable than they are.
I like women who are smart, witty, perceptive, humorous, ... But that stuff is not appealing if she ego trips about it or thinks it should substitute for looks. Both brains and beauty, though. Now THAT'S hot!
if she's ugly her intelligence can only make her more attractive. a beautiful girl does get points right away for her looks, but loses them based on her intelligence
I love a very highly intelligent woman, but isn't attractive to at least me then its a no go no matter how intellectually brilliant she is. I can't do it.
Clever women, are difficult as they can figure out easily when a guy likes them. Simply speaking, you can't get them to bed easily 🤣🤣🤣. So they are more effort so men will look for other women unless the clever one is really beautiful to let go.
Secondly, clever women are strong and self sufficient. They look bold and knows what they want. So they are in short, independent. But guys like to be the alpha. So this is another reason they give up on clever women.

The clever woman, is seldom wise Men want a woman who is wise, not who is clever. I find most clever people unattractive until they also prove to be wise
I disagree I believe no matter what a Woman looks like she can be clever and I'm not turned-off by unattractive women i date a woman for her personality not for her looks or her body
